Tendo em conta a fraca qualidade da construção existente rapidamente foi decidido que desta, apenas se iria manter a casa-mãe, a primeira estrutura a ser construída. A casa, de pequenas dimensões, não era viável para albergar todo o programa para a habitação e foi por isso necessário projetar uma extensão da mesma.
Surge assim a implantação de um volume enviesado em relação à Rua dos Canteiros. Este é também o resultado da procura por uma boa exposição solar e por uma boa relação com a paisagem natural envolvente.
É um volume simples, de planta retangular, que apresenta pequenos rasgos emoldurados por cantarias em pedra natural marcando aqui, em conjunto com uma cobertura tradicional de duas águas, a relação com a história do edificado existente.
A casa-mãe, de pé direito duplo e com um mezanino, torna-se numa sala de especial relevância com uma vertente mais social, onde se esperam convívios familiares na perspectiva de criar novas e boas memórias devolvendo a esta, a dignidade de outrora.
Aware of the poor quality of the existing construction, it was decided that only the main house, the first structure to be built, would be kept. The house of small dimensions was not enough for all the program, so it was necessary to design an extension of it.
Thus, the implantation of a skewed volume in relation to Rua dos Canteiros arises. This is also the result of the search for good sun exposure and a good relationship with the surrounding natural landscape.
It is a simple volume, with a rectangular plan, which has small features framed by natural stone ashlars, marking here, together with a traditional gable roof, the relationship with the history of the existing building.
The main house, with double height and with a mezzanine, becomes a room of special relevance with a more social aspect, where family get-togethers with the perspective of creating new and good memories, returning to it the dignity of the past.
